Yes, it is safe to use the app as it has a number of security features.

In the GOmobile application, for example:

  • You confirm the identity of the advisor – if you are not sure that it is a BNP Paribas Bank employee calling you, you can confirm their identity in the app.
  • You activate additional protection - you can decide to activate the free Behavioural Protection in the app. The protection reacts if your activity in GOmobile differs significantly from your behaviour pattern. The bank may then ask you for additional verification of the transaction you are making to make sure it is you.
  • Receive real-time alerts - when you make a transfer or pay with your card, you can trigger instant alerts. This allows you to keep track of your account transactions and the status of your finances.
  • Log in securely – you can use your fingerprint or face ID (facial recognition) to log in to your app quickly and securely.

Remember to download the app from the official store (Play Store or AppStore).

Only log in from trusted devices. Manually enter the bank's address https://www.bnpparibas.pl/ or use the official mobile app. Check that the connection is encrypted.
Use a security image; the image you select will appear every time you log in to BNP Paribas online banking. If there is no image or a different image appears, it means that you are logging in to a fake website. Check the “link”.

Check the website address (it should start with “https://” and contain the bank's official domain). Make sure there are no typos in the address. Avoid using links sent in emails or text messages. Criminals create fake websites that look deceptively similar to the original websites of stores, institutions, banks, etc.  Therefore, be especially careful when logging into online banking. Even if the layout of the BNP Paribas website you are visiting does not arouse your suspicion and is similar to the login page you are familiar with, always check the address carefully to see if it starts with “https” and if the website certificate has been issued for the service you actually want to log in to.

It should be at least 15 characters long and contain upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters (e.g., %, $, @, ń, ó). Avoid obvious passwords. Do not use the same password on different services, websites, or applications.  Remember to change your password if you suspect that it has been compromised.

2FA (two-factor authentication) is an additional level of login security that requires confirmation of identity using two different factors. In addition to your password, you must provide, for example, a code sent by SMS, a code generated by an application, or biometric data (e.g., a fingerprint).

It provides additional protection even if your password is stolen, as criminals will not be able to access your account without the second authentication factor.

Your own, updated computer or phone with antivirus software and a strong password or biometrics.

Behavioral protection monitors the way you type and click, creating a unique “behavioral model.”

Update your system and applications regularly. Updates eliminate security vulnerabilities that can be exploited by cybercriminals. Set strong screen security. Use a PIN, password, or biometrics (fingerprint, facial recognition). Avoid simple PIN codes, such as “1234” or “0000.” Limit app permissions. Do not install apps from unknown sources. Check what permissions apps have—do they really need access to your location, microphone, camera, or photos?
